Responsibilities
- Taking the lead on a range of flood risk, surface water, drainage, and airport-related design projects for the public and private sectors
- Contributing to River Restoration and Flood Alleviation projects
- Completing Flood Risk Assessments for Zones 1, 2, and 3
- Producing Surface Water Management Plans, as well as Surface Water and Foul Drainage Strategies
- Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling, using the appropriate software (including TuFlow and Flood Modeller)
- Putting together Residential Drainage and Sewerage designs, using Causeway Flow and MicroDrainage across a number of projects
- Submitting Drainage Area Plans
Required skills and experience
- A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)
- Demonstrable experience of having worked for a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority, in a design capacity
- Extensive experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, and Hydraulic Modelling
- Outstanding working knowledge of the relevant software packages, including Flood Modeller, Tuflow, and Causeway Flow
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skills
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience completing Drainage Designs
- Hold Chartership Status, or proactively working to attain this
- Prior experience of having lead design projects and/or a team
- Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
