Job summary

Bracken Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead HSQE on major London construction schemes. The role focuses on implementing safety policies, driving cultural change, and ensuring regulatory compliance across projects up to £80m in value.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years' UK main contractor experience, strong leadership, and proven ability to influence safety practices at all levels of the organisation. A proactive, collaborative approach will be essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Safety Practitioner with a UK main contractor.
• Proven track record in HSQE management on construction projects.
• Knowledge of current UK safety and environmental legislation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels.
• Excellent organisational skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to influence behavioural change and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the health and safety strategy for major London projects.
• Implement and monitor the company's HSE policy to prevent injuries and waste.
• Ensure compliance with UK safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project teams to drive safe delivery and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and training to site teams and advisors.
