Job summary

Notting Hill & Ealing High School GDST is seeking an experienced HR Manager for a 15-month maternity-cover contract in London. You will lead a high-performing HR service, advise senior leaders, and drive improvements in HR systems, payroll data accuracy and compliance.

You will combine hands-on HR generalist expertise with strategic thinking, guiding recruitment, onboarding, attendance, probation and HR records, while building trusted relationships with managers and staff.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HR generalist with strong technical knowledge and judgement.
• Experience advising senior leaders on employee relations.
• Recruitment, onboarding, absence, probation and payroll data handling.
• Experience maintaining SCR compliance and HR records.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with managers and colleagues.
• CIPD Level 5 or higher; experience in education is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provide accessible, confident and pragmatic HR advice to managers and colleagues.
• Review and improve HR systems and processes for efficiency.
• Work with Finance to strengthen the HR/payroll interface and data accuracy.
• Manage a broad range of employee relations matters.
• Ensure recruitment, onboarding, safer recruitment and SCR oversight meet high standards.
• Use HR data and insight to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with the GDST central HR team for aligned action.
