YOUR ROLE

The Senior HR Business Partner – HR Shared Services is primarily accountable for the leadership and delivery of a comprehensive and customer‑centric HR service throughout the employee lifecycle, acting as HR Shared Services relationship lead for colleagues, Line Managers, Senior Leaders and external stakeholders.

Supporting the UK Group HR Director and working collaboratively with the wider HR Business Partnering team (including L&D and Talent Acquisition), you will lead a talented and high‑performing HR Shared Services team, inspiring a working culture of service excellence, process innovation and continuous improvement whilst delivering a highly‑engaging colleague and stakeholder experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING | KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Senior HR Business Partner – HR Shared Services is accountable for leading the delivery of all employee lifecycle activity, including the leadership of HR Shared Services team and maintenance & continued innovation of associated processes, policies and systems.

Your key areas of accountability will include:

People and Resources

  • Lead the HR Shared Service team to deliver a comprehensive and efficient HR employee lifecycle experience to colleagues, Managers and key stakeholders alike.
  • Lead and develop the team to think innovatively and creatively, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowering them to identify and implement better ways of working where there is opportunity to do so.
  • Ensure processes and systems are effectively maintained, and in doing so ensuring policies and processes meet the relevant legislative requirements.
  • Proactively identify HR administration process efficiency and work cross‑functionally to deliver those efficiencies.
  • Work in partnership with Talent Acquisition Business Partner and Payroll to oversee recruitment & onboarding administration and payroll activity.

HR Data Management

  • Ensuring all HR Data management systems and practices are accurately maintained.
  • Timely delivery of a suite of HR MI Reports to UK Group HR Director, Senior Leadership team and Group Head Office to provide key business insights (i.e. headcount, absence management, attrition, DE&I metrics etc).
  • Oversee FTE, Headcount and organisational chart reporting to Group.
  • Continually review and identify most effective ways to manage, handle, input, share and process HR data securely, identifying and implementing continuous improvements where there is opportunity to do so.

HR Policy

  • Oversee maintenance of all HR policies and manage the communication across the UK and Ireland businesses.
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation matters, supporting in remedial action & meetings where necessary.
  • Well networked, proactively keeping abreast of current HR trends, issues and best practice and applying these to ways of working at CMA‑CGM.
  • Overseeing visa and immigration activity to ensure full legal compliance.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Build relationships with 3rd party benefit providers and brokers to ensure best service, price and offering for all colleague benefits.
  • Ensure that all policies and schemes are renewed in the most cost‑effective and timely manner.
  • Co‑ordinate all pension activity and administration, overseeing governance process and ensuring UK business compliance.
  • Work with Head Office Compensation & Benefits team to identify economies of scale and Group alignment of benefits where possible.
  • Oversee administration process for annual salary & bonus process.
  • Management of payroll bureau relationship.

Other HR operational duties as required;

  • Coordination and administration of seasonal projects, such as:
    • Engagement survey
    • Focus groups e.g. to improve benefits offering
    • Performance appraisal process
    • L&D partnership with CEVA including internships, apprenticeships, roll out of L+D strategy

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? | KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience within a HR Shared Services environment. (Team management & leadership experience in a HRSS environment would be advantageous)
  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience of comprehensive people-data management and analysis;
  • Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality
  • Resilience, with the confidence to work in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline‑driven environment
  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills, with the flexibility to work to often‑challenging deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate and influence at all levels

Practical and technical knowledge

  • Excellent computer literacy (especially MS Excel)
  • Innovative and creative approach, with demonstrable experience of identifying and implementing continuous improvement to existing ways of working;
  • Solutions focused
  • Knowledge/ experience of using AI in a HR environment for continuous improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge and awareness of current employment law legislation
  • Strong systems knowledge and experience, particularly Workday and/or Success Factors

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent (advantageous, but not essential)
  • HR / Law related degree (advantageous, but not essential).
  • Payroll experience (advantageous, but not essential)
