Senior HR Advisor for Avanti Schools Trust

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and people-focused Senior HR Advisor to join a collaborative People Services team—supporting leaders, driving engagement, and shaping positive workplace culture across multiple sites.

SALARY: £45,532 – £49,854 per annum London based (£41,129 – £45,452 per annum Leicester based) + Benefits

LOCATION: This role can be based at either the Stanmore, North West London office or Leicester office, with flexibility for hybrid working.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to provide expert guidance and operational HR support across a dynamic multi-site organisation.

As a Senior HR Advisor you’ll partner with managers to align people strategies with business goals, lead employee relations activity, and champion wellbeing and inclusion across the workforce.

Working collaboratively with the People Services team, the Senior HR Advisor will play a key role in developing leadership capability, improving colleague experience, and delivering initiatives that bring the People Strategy to life.

Duties

Your duties as the Senior HR Advisor include:

  • Partner With Leaders: Support workforce planning, engagement, wellbeing, and talent development to help teams thrive
  • Advise On Employee Relations: Provide Tier 2 HR advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness absence cases
  • Support Organisational Change: Assist with restructures, cultural transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop Human Resources Policies: Contribute to policy updates in line with employment legislation and best practice
  • Lead Human Resources Projects: Deliver People Strategy initiatives and Trust-wide priorities to enhance organisational performance
  • Champion Wellbeing and EDI: Promote inclusion, mental health, and positive employee experiences across the organisation
  • Analyse HR Data: Provide insights to inform decisions and improve management capability
  • Collaborate With Colleagues: Work closely with People Business Partners and Advisors to ensure consistent, high-quality Human Resources support
Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role covering the full employee lifecycle
  • Proven experience of supporting managers with complex people matters and HR policies
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Effective organisational and time management skills within a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Desirable

  • Experience within the education or public sector
  • Knowledge of HR systems and data analysis tools
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
