Overview

We\'re seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our public sector client on a temporary basis (approximately 12 weeks, with potential extension). This is a hands-on operational role focused on providing proactive HR support across a range of employee relations and advisory matters. Hybrid working, 3 days in the Northampton office, 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations
    • Advise and support managers on sickness absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
    • Ensure cases are managed effectively and in line with employment law and internal policy.
  • Manager Advisory Support
    • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from managers.
    • Provide practical, solution-focused guidance on HR policies and procedures.
    • Promote consistency and compliance in HR practice across departments.
  • Operational HR Delivery
    • Support the delivery of HR programmes and initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and case records.
    • Assist with day-to-day HR administration and compliance tasks.
  • TUPE Support
    • Provide input and administrative support to TUPE processes (not lead responsibility).
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards).
  • Strong background in employee relations and advisory work.
  • Confident in handling complex cases and advising managers at all levels.
  • Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
