Job summary

Lambda seeks a senior network architect to design high‑performance data center networks for AI/ML workloads. You will shape topology for GPU clusters, storage backends, and multi‑tenant environments, and select next‑gen technologies to meet demanding AI workloads.

You will lead architecture standards, collaborate with compute and storage teams for end‑to‑end data flow, and guide automation and telemetry initiatives. Strong leadership and ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years architecting high‑performance data center networks (HPC/AI/cloud).
• Deep InfiniBand HDR/NDR and Ethernet fabrics experience (RoCE, RDMA).
• Strong data center switching, congestion control, QoS, VXLAN/EVPN.
• Low-latency, high-throughput data paths including GPU‑to‑GPU and storage traffic.
• BGP-based fabric design including eBGP underlays, EVPN, ECMP, route policy.
• Experience with SDN, APIs, automation, and network telemetry.
• Optical networking: transceivers, fiber types, topologies, WDM.
• Leadership and cross-functional influence; ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Architect high‑performance networking solutions with ultra‑low latency and high‑bandwidth connectivity.
• Define topology and patterns for large‑scale GPU clusters, storage backends, multi‑tenant environments.
• Evaluate and select next‑generation network technologies to meet AI workload requirements.
• Develop and maintain network architecture standards and scalability roadmaps.
• Partner with compute and storage architects for end‑to‑end data flow and fault tolerance.
• Guide network automation strategies and tooling for provisioning, telemetry, visibility.
• Mentor engineers on advanced network concepts and best practices.
