Job summary

Unilever is seeking a Senior Home Care Perfumery Innovation Lead to grow the perfumery expertise that forms a strategic advantage for the group. You will drive fragrance-led innovation across Home Care brands and mentor internal and external perfumers to set fragrance design rules that win in the market.

Based at Port Sunlight R&D, the role requires a strong science background, proven perfumery leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver superior fragrance experiences

Qualifications

• Educational background in a relevant Science and/or Engineering to at least BSc level.
• Qualified as a perfumer through a recognised perfumery school or on-the job training.
• Proven track record delivering as a perfumer in consumer goods.
• Experience with analytical/measurement teams to build predictive fragrance models.
• Knowledge of fragrance raw materials compliance and sustainability.
• Ability to lead self and teams to breakthrough results.
• Ability to work with internal and external perfumers to design and optimise fragrance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Home Care Fragrance Design Team to deliver next generation HC products.
• Work with Unilever and external Fragrance House partners to optimise fragrance portfolios.

Job Purpose

You will grow Home Care's Perfumery Innovation expertise to become a major strategic advantage for Unilever. The fragrances you touch will drive the desire of Unilever Brands worldwide. You will become a recognised leader in driving perfumery-led innovation across our HC brands.

Responsibilities

• As a member of the Unilever HC Fragrance Design Team, you will partner with the Home Care Innovation Team, and Science & Technology Team to deliver the next generation of HC products - enabling extraordinary fragrance experiences for our consumers.
• You will work with Unilever and external Fragrance House partners to optimize the superiority, performance and cost of Unilever's existing and future fragrance portfolios.

Requirements

• Educational background in a relevant Science and/or Engineering to at least BSc level.
• Qualified as a perfumer through a recognised perfumery school or on-the job training.
• A proven track record of delivery as a Perfumer (Creative and/or Technical) in consumer goods. You will have hands‑on experience of setting fragrance design rules and/or optimizing fragrances that drive success in the market.
• Experience working with analytical / measurement experts to develop predictive models for successful fragrance design.
• Knowledge of the compliance and sustainability challenges of fragrance raw materials.
• A track record of being able to problem solve issues and develop solutions.
• The ability to lead self, and teams, to achieve breakthrough results.
• Ability to work with other perfumers (both internal and external) to design and optimise fragrance.
