Job summary

Jobtailor in Ipswich seeks a civil/structural engineer to join the highways structures team, responsible for inspection, maintenance and construction in collaboration with the Highway Services Contractor and supply chain partners.

The role involves inspecting structures across the county, prioritising works, and implementing strengthening measures to ensure safety and fitness for purpose, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in civil or structural engineering required.
• Engineering Technician status and/or working towards Incorporated Engineer status preferred.
• Knowledge of structural behaviour and experience in inspection, design, assessment and management.
• Experience delivering bridge/structure projects with design management exposure.
• Familiar with Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and relevant codes of practice.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation including CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Work within the team responsible for inspection, maintenance, and construction of highway structures.
• Inspect and assess a wide range of structures, prioritise and implement maintenance works.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams and organisations to deliver a successful service.
• Take personal responsibility for your work and support others.
