Job summary

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 nurse to join the Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit and Health-Based Place of Safety in Lincoln. The post requires flexible working across days, nights and weekends, with a focus on recovery and high-quality mental health care.

Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for mental health care? We are looking for someone to join our Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit (PCDU) and Health-Based Place of Safety (HBPoS).

We work closely with service users, their carers, and the nursing team to ensure a robust recovery pathway, often community-based.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.

A genuine interest in supporting individuals through their mental health journey.

Main duties of the job

Participate in developing, implementing, and maintaining care within the clinical decisions unit.

Be actively involved in the assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care.

Person specification
Experience
  • Previous relevant experience working with people with mental health problems at a nursing assistant grade or equivalent within a health and social care setting
  • Voluntary or working capacity with mental health service or equivalent
Qualifications
  • Cavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards resourced by LPFT
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
  • Certificate in Community Mental Health
  • ECDL
Skills
  • A patient and empathic approach
  • Effective communication with service user, other members of the team and outside agencies
  • Clear accurate clinical note keeping
  • Skills related to Physical healthcare interventions such as urine analysis, phlebotomy, TPR and BP etc, recording findings and informing supervising nurse of results
  • De‑escalation Skills
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Requirement to work both day shifts and night shifts
