Are you passionate about driving improvement in healthcare? We're looking for a Senior Healthcare Professional Improvement Lead (Band 8a) to join our Improvement team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. You'll use your Quality Improvement expertise to shape programmes, support the implementation of Quality Management Systems, and lead, coach, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams.

With a strong focus on using data and evidence to drive measurable change, this is a unique opportunity to join a great team and to play a key role in delivering our CTM 2030 vision and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job

To be a core member of the Improvement CTM team, supporting the service in achieving its' plans in relation to the business plan and CTM 2030 priorities.

Will have a strategic role in ensuring the development and maintenance of the Quality improvement strategic objectives across CTMUHB.

Responsibility for both the development and delivery of Quality Improvement training programmes for multi-disciplinary groups. This will include the development and delivery of training programmes to clinicians and senior staff across many organisational programmes, and the leading and facilitation of workshops covering a variety of subjects within the overall continuous improvement agenda.

To provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership across the professions and care groups within CTMUHB.

To work collaboratively with the wider teams to ensure effective communications about the activity and progress made.

Ensure that the service can meet its agreed targets within the available resources escalating any capacity issues.

Actively support the team objectives, leading projects and driving forward programmes.

To deputise for the Assistant Director of Improvement, Culture, Capability and Delivery in committees and meetings.

To be the lead for designated projects and areas of work which reflect clinical, professional, and corporate objectives, which impact beyond the scope of own service/speciality.

Person Specification

Qualifications and/or knowledge Essential

  • Registered Professional Healthcare or Social Care Qualification, requiring registration on a Clinical Professional Register (HCPC/NMC/CQSW) e.g. Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional etc. or educated to relevant Degree in Clinical Governance or Core Academic Subject.
  • Equivalent combination of Educational/Change management and continuous or Quality Improvement knowledge/qualification.
  • Demonstrable additional specialist knowledge and expertise e.g., advanced presentation and facilitation skills.

Experience Essential

  • Significant management experience in a senior role including staff management, ideally within the NHS.
  • Measuring and monitoring quality standards.
  • Presenting and delivering training to large groups of staff.

Desirable

  • Evidence of sharing good practice via abstracts, posters, articles etc.

Values Essential

  • Able to act independently, decisively and effectively in leading a programme.

Aptitude and Abilities Essential

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and analysis effectively to different organisations and audiences, including formal presentations e.g., Board level and UK wide conferences.
  • Ability to overcome barriers associated with conveying highly complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Can demonstrate initiative, creativity, flexibility and a personal ethos of continuous improvement.

Desirable (Welsh language)

  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above.
