Job description
Senior Healthcare Professional Improvement Lead

The closing date is 19 November 2025

Are you passionate about driving improvement in healthcare? We're looking for a Senior Healthcare Professional Improvement Lead (Band 8a) to join our Improvement team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. You'll use your Quality Improvement expertise to shape programmes, support the implementation of Quality Management Systems, and lead, coach, and inspire multi‑disciplinary teams.

With a strong focus on using data and evidence to drive measurable change, this is a unique opportunity to join a great team and to play a key role in delivering our CTM 2030 vision and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

This role is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing candidates. Level 3 speaking & listening skills (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are required, meaning basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Main duties of the job

To be a core member of the Improvement CTM team, supporting the service in achieving its plans in relation to the business plan and CTM 2030 priorities.

Will have a strategic role in ensuring the development and maintenance of the Quality improvement strategic objectives across CTMUHB.

Responsibility for both the development and delivery of Quality Improvement training programmes for multi‑disciplinary groups, including the development and delivery of training programmes to clinicians and senior staff across many organisational programmes, and the leading and facilitation of workshops covering a variety of subjects within the overall continuous improvement agenda.

To provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership across the professions and care groups within CTMUHB.

To work collaboratively with the wider teams to ensure effective communications about the activity and progress made.

Ensure that the service can meet its agreed targets within the available resources, escalating any capacity issues.

Actively support the team objectives, leading projects and driving forward programmes.

To deputise for the Assistant Director of Improvement, Culture, Capability and Delivery in committees and meetings.

To be the lead for designated projects and areas of work which reflect clinical, professional, and corporate objectives, which impact beyond the scope of own service/speciality.
