Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 3 senior HCA to work between the Oncology Outpatient & Chemotherapy Day case unit. This is an opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge and skills within both units, you will be required to have your own workload each day as well as being part of the team. Once competent you will carry out various clinical skills on a daily basis and be given the chance to develop within this environment. Support and training will be provided to the right candidate.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of care planned and assessed by the Registered Nurses. To carry out care / other duties under indirect supervision. To manage own workload daily. To supervise junior health care assistants contributing to their training and development. To undertake specific extended skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide & deliver a high standard of nursing care, recognising & meeting the specific needs of patients

Essential

Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications
  • Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or HCA UHP Level 3 or definitive evidence of working towards - 75% completed (or equivalent transferable qualification)
  • Completion of Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (that maps to the Apprenticeship Standard for Senior Health Care Support Worker)
  • Undertake and complete the Care Certificate training programme offered in-house
