Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is seeking a Senior H&S Advisor to support operational teams across civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure projects in the South East. The role is hybrid, with regular site travel and a focus on guidance, inspections and audits to uphold safety standards.

You will coach colleagues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven H&S experience in utilities, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate; ideally with construction qualification or NEBOSH Diploma.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.

Senior H&S Advisor - Southeast - Hybrid

Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior H&S Advisor to support operational teams across civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure projects throughout the South East.

The successful candidate will provide health and safety guidance, conduct site inspections and audits, support incident investigations, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures. They will also coach colleagues, promote best practice and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Key Requirements

• Proven H&S experience within utilities, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, ideally with a construction qualification or NEBOSH Diploma.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Experience in site inspections, audits, incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent communication, report-writing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence, coach and support operational teams.
• Relevant degree qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the South East.

Location

The role will involve regular travel to operational sites across the South East, with the majority of work based south of the river.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary up to £60,000 per annum
