Job summary

Battersea Arts Centre in London is seeking a seasoned Head of Production & Technical to lead the Production & Technical team and oversee the delivery of a varied programme across BAC—from performances and artist development to community activity, events, weddings and filming.

You will shape departmental strategy, lead planning and budgeting, and work with artists, visiting companies, clients and BAC colleagues to enable practical solutions that support both creative ideas and day‑to‑day

Qualifications

Strong leadership experience in theatre production or technical teams.
Experience delivering complex programmes across performances, development, and events.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to theatre production.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the Production & Technical department.
Lead workforce planning, resource allocation, budgeting and succession planning.
Line manage and develop the Production & Technical team with a positive, high‑performing culture.
Provide expert advice on production systems, rigging, electrical installations and event delivery.
Ensure safe operation, inspection and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Oversee budgets, resources and expenditure for Production & Technical.
