About the Role

As Head of Business, you will have full P&L responsibility and overall accountability for the dealership's strategic direction, performance, and profitability.

You will lead a large, established team—over 30 sales professionals—ensuring delivery of exceptional results in used car retailing, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll also work closely with service and aftersales to maintain standards across all departments, ensuring a cohesive, customer-focused operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong, decisive leadership across all areas of the dealership
  • Drive commercial performance across used car sales, profitability, and customer retention
  • Oversee all operational functions including stock management, deal files, compliance, and financial reporting
  • Champion an exceptional customer experience and uphold brand standards
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to implement group strategy and best practiceFoster a culture of accountability, development, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
  • Proven track record as a Head of Business, General Manager, or Dealer Principal within the automotive sector
  • Extensive experience leading large, multi-departmental teams
  • Demonstrated success in driving profitability and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction

Working Pattern
  • The dealership operates extended opening hours, typically until 9:00 pm, to meet customer demand.
  • The role will involve a mixture of weekdays and weekends on a rota basis, usually 4 to 5 long days per week.
  • Weekend working remains essential due to peak trading periods, with one weekend off every 5-6 weeks (plus your normal rest days that week).
  • Flexibility may be offered for the right candidate, recognising the senior nature of this position and the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance.
  • Initial in-house training may involve travel to other sites (accommodation and mileage fully covered).
