Job description
Developing creative solutions for challenges in defence and cybersecurity

This established technical consultancy provides expertise to government and industry clients in areas such as cybersecurity and secure communications. Their projects are wide-ranging and can involve PCB design, signal or image processing with FPGAs, low power electronics, RF communications, and embedded software development in C or C++. This is a client-facing development role with a high degree of ownership over your work. You therefore need to be a self-starter, a confident communicator, with the technical depth necessary to take the lead in generating technical solutions, and mentor colleagues when required.

Joining a team of expert engineers, this is a great environment in which to apply your existing electronics design expertise, and further broaden your experience and skill set.

Essential skills and attributes
  • At minimum a 2.1 bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline from a well‑ranked university together with A* and A at A‑level (or equivalent). Ideally, you will also have an advanced degree or PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Previous commercial experience in areas such as PCB layout, FPGA and SoC design, VHDL, embedded C or C++ development, high‑speed networking, or RF filtering.
  • Excellent client‑facing communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a higher level UK security clearance – i.e. British nationality and resident in the UK for the last 10 years.

Fully office‑based due to the sensitive nature of many of their projects, the company supports flexible working hours to allow for differing individual circumstances. The role features a competitive remuneration package including a pension with generous employer contributions, and an annual performance‑related bonus.
