Join Gravity Media as a Senior Guarantee Vision Engineer and lead the technical delivery of world-class broadcast events.

A BRIEF SUMMARY

As Senior Guarantee Vision Engineer with Gravity Media you will be responsible for planning, preparing, configuring, and guaranteeing the on-site delivery of both traditional baseband and IP based broadcast solutions that will underpin some of the world’s most high profile, large-scale broadcast events.

You will be joining a team of highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Engineers who hold a deep understanding of live TV production. You will be based out of Gravity Media’s bases at HW or Watford as required, and will be expected to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.

You will also collaborate effectively with the other members of our in-house Project Management, and Operations Teams in conjunction with our clients to design, build and deliver comprehensive, state of the art broadcast solutions on location around the world.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Senior Guarantee Vision Engineer (EIC) on broadcast projects responsible for the technical delivery of the facilities. This would include the following duties:
  • Determining the equipment requirements and specifications for the project
  • Compiling of comprehensive bill of materials and consumables list
  • Creating technical plans for each project – Block diagrams, router maps, multi-viewer layouts, network planning etc.
  • Preparation of the broadcast solutions at our Watford or High Wycombe locations prior to on-site deployment
  • Assisting with Project Management and determining logistical requirements
  • Working with and managing the on-site vision engineering crew
  • Helping to facilitate de-rig and de-commissioning at the end of each project
  • Accurate fault reporting and hands-on, front-line maintenance and repair of project technical equipment where appropriate.
  • Contribute to developing workflow development and improvements to the Gravity Media Broadcast solutions infrastructure
  • Assisting, when possible, with technical issues at Gravity Media. This could be in areas such as technical support via the telephone or site visits with clients
  • Assisting with training of junior engineering staff
  • Undertake general routine maintenance and planned testing work
  • Prepare and test equipment prior to shipping
  • Work closely with the Assets team to prepare equipment ready for use
  • Assist in the planning of projects to meet the requirements set out by the client
  • Research and source ‘equipment solutions’ to meet client needs if there is no solution a in stock
  • Identify and help repair faulty equipment where required
  • Remain up to date with evolving technology and processes through continuous self-led learning and professional development.
International Travel

This position is based heavily on location which requires a large amount of international travel. Therefore, flexibility and a keen sense of adventure are a key requisite for the position.

  • Strong IT and computer skills, including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of apps and the ability to learn and utilise Google business apps.
