Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking an Information Security Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager to lead the GRC team within Cabinet Office Digital in Newcastle upon Tyne.

You will own the cyber risk management, policy development, GovS 007 alignment, and GovAssure programme, driving SbD adoption and maturity of the central GRC tool, while reporting to the Head of Information Security and engaging with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading governance and risk management in a government setting.
• Ability to present risk trade-offs to non-technical leadership.
• Knowledge of GovS 007, CAF, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF.

Responsibilities

• Drive the delivery of the departmental cyber security governance strategy, aligned with GovS 007 and the NCSC CAF.
• Oversee GovAssure programme across the department and support service owners.
• Embed Secure by Design (SbD) across all digital initiatives and data projects.
• Represent Cyber Security on governance boards and present risk trade-offs to senior leadership.
• Manage cyber risk framework, standards, and thresholds for departmental teams.
