Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a glaucoma specialty to deliver high-quality glaucoma care across multiple Moorfields sites in London. The role combines clinical and surgical practice with leadership, teaching and service development responsibilities.

Responsibilities include face-to-face, virtual and theatre clinics, developing diagnostic pathways and participating in governance, research and education to maintain Moorfields’

Qualifications

• Specialist glaucoma expertise with consultant-level practice required.
• Experience in leading clinical teams and teaching.
• Ability to develop and optimise glaucoma pathways and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert glaucoma care in outpatient, virtual and theatre settings.
• Deliver consultant-led care across Moorfields North and City Road services.
• Lead development of glaucoma diagnostic and virtual review pathways.
• Perform advanced glaucoma surgery, including complex procedures.
• Supervise, mentor and educate fellows, trainees and allied staff.
• Contribute to governance, audit, research and service improvement.
