Responsibilities

• Highly specialist GI physiology services.
• Perform and supervise tests ensuring results can be interpreted with confidence.
• Provide highly specialist advice to medical staff or other health care professionals performing clinical investigations or interventions.
• Interpret clinical and scientific results and form a judgement on their significance.
• Communicate highly complex procedures in simple terms to patients, their relatives and other health care professionals where there may be barriers to understanding.
• Lead or participate in research and development work; contribute to clinical governance and audits.
