Job summary

Additional Resources Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer to join a civil, structural and geotechnical consultancy. You will provide geotechnical expertise, prepare technical reports, and oversee ground investigations for infrastructure projects.

The role involves developing ground models, performing design assessments and risk analyses, with occasional site travel. Requires 6–8 years post‑grad experience and a Geology degree; full‑time on‑site work in the Leeds area.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years post-graduation experience.
• Degree in Geology or related discipline.
• Experience producing geotechnical reports and assessments.
• Rail sector experience and earthworks reporting.
• Ground investigation planning, supervision, and reporting.
• Experience with geotechnical design, ground modelling, and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of UK design standards.
• Willingness to travel and hold a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Producing high‑quality geotechnical reports, assessments, calculations, and documentation.
• Developing and interpreting ground models to support safe engineering solutions.
• Carrying out geotechnical design assessments, including earthworks and slopes.
• Undertaking risk assessments, including preliminary and mining risk assessments.
• Reviewing technical reports, drawings, and design information.
• Using geotechnical software and calculations to support delivery.
• Supervising ground investigations, site inspections, and data collection.
• Supporting project management including programme, budget and quality control.
• Reviewing investigation specifications, tenders and submissions.
• Preparing information for proposals and business development.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and internal teams during delivery.
