Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Croydon Office

I'm looking for an ambitious Geotechnical engineer to take the step up into a geotechnical leadership role based in Croydon, where you'll spearhead complex ground investigations and foundation designs for high-profile infrastructure, residential, and commercial developments. You'll have the autonomy to set technical standards, champion innovative soil-structure solutions, and shape strategic direction, while mentoring and expanding a talented team of geotechnical engineers. Lead & Mentor

• Nurture the skills and confidence of junior and mid-level engineers through hands-on coaching, technical workshops, and career guidance
• Create an open environment where questions are encouraged and fresh ideas flourish
• Play a key role in recruiting and building a high-calibre geotechnical team

Drive Technical Excellence

• Own the design and delivery of challenging site investigations, ground models, and foundation solutions for building, infrastructure and civil engineering projects
• Set the standard for quality, ensuring every report and design meets rigorous industry codes and client expectations
• Introduce innovative approaches to slope stability, retaining structures, ground improvement, and soil-structure interaction

Champion Growth & Collaboration

• Partner with business development teams to shape winning proposals and secure exciting new contracts
• Forge strong relationships with clients and project teams, embedding geotechnical insight at the heart of each project
• Represent our geotechnical practice in presentations, workshops, and stakeholder meetings

Who You Are

• Chartered (or near-Chartered) with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent, backed by at least 5 years of hands-on geotechnical experience
• A natural leader who thrives on mentoring and developing technical talent
• Confident managing commercial aspects of projects, from scoping and costing to client liaison
• Proficient in PLAXIS, GEO5, or similar geotechnical software, with a keen eye for practical innovation
