A leading consultancy in the highways sector is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in geotechnical engineering, strong technical leadership skills, and the ability to manage ground investigations. The position offers a mix of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. They are also open to permanent candidates.

Job description

Our client, a leading consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role involves working through all stages of geotechnical schemes and offers a mix of office and remote working opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving as the technical lead on a range of geotechnical-related projects
  • Developing and procuring ground investigations
  • Writing and checking reports, including monitoring memos, PSSR's, and GIR's
  • Undertaking and verifying design and assessment calculations (piling, soil nailing, shallow foundations, earthworks)
  • Checking CDM documentation
  • Supporting the project management of schemes
  • Maintaining and developing excellent client relationships
  • Supporting the development of more junior staff through technical training and mentoring
Job Requirements:
  • Significant experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Proficiency in developing and managing ground investigations
