Job summary

Steer’s Geospatial and Data Analytics team is exploring how spatial analysis and data science help planners and decision-makers across the UK and beyond. We offer roles that involve maps, dashboards and web mapping to support transport projects.

The salary range reflects location and experience, with a clear path for development in analytics and consulting. We are looking for individuals who enjoy solving problems with data and want to grow their consulting skills through a variety of transport

Qualifications

• Around 2–5 years' experience in geospatial, GIS or data analytics.
• Experience using ArcGIS (Desktop/Pro/Online) or QGIS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with spatial and non-spatial datasets.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience producing high-quality maps and visualisations.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn new tools and techniques and teach others.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geospatial analysis using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online or QGIS.
• Analyse and interpret transport, demographic and spatial datasets to generate meaningful insight.
• Develop maps, dashboards and interactive visualisations that help clients understand complex information.
• Support the design and delivery of digital tools and web mapping applications.
• Work collaboratively with transport planners, economists, engineers and data specialists across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Help improve the efficiency of analytical workflows through automation and innovative ways of working.
• Present findings clearly through reports, presentations and client workshops.
• Build relationships with clients and contribute to business development opportunities.
