Qualifications

• Degree in Geophysics, Geoscience or related discipline.
• Significant experience in applied geophysics, ideally in a consultancy.
• Strong understanding of geophysical survey methods, data processing and interpretation.
• Experience managing projects and communicating technical findings to clients.
• Excellent report-writing, communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsabilités

• Plan, manage and deliver geophysical surveys and investigations from initial scoping through to final reporting.
• Oversee data acquisition, processing, interpretation and QA.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients and project stakeholders.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, providing technical guidance and developing relationships.
• Manage project budgets, programmes and resources for successful delivery.
• Support and mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to team development.

The Role

An established geophysical consultancy is looking for a Senior Geophysicist to join its team in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geophysicist to take a leading role in delivering a range of geophysical surveys and investigations across multiple sectors.

The position will combine technical project delivery with client-facing responsibilities, including managing client relationships, providing technical advice and supporting business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver geophysical surveys and investigations from initial scoping through to final reporting.
• Undertake and oversee data acquisition, processing, interpretation and quality assurance.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients and project stakeholders.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing technical guidance and developing long‑term relationships.
• Manage project budgets, programmes and resources to ensure successful delivery.
• Support and mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to the development of the wider team.
• Contribute to tenders, fee proposals and business development activities.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality ground investigation solutions.
