Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in London is seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our client’s multidisciplinary team. You will lead geo-environmental assessments, contaminated land advice and remediation strategies from initial investigation through to project completion on brownfield, residential and regeneration schemes.

The role offers hybrid working, exposure to high-profile projects across London and the South East, and a competitive salary between £55k and £60k plus

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Strong UK consultancy experience in geo-environmental engineering.
• Experience in contaminated land assessment and brownfield redevelopment.
• Knowledge of LCRM, CLR11, C4SLs and Environment Agency guidance.
• Chartered status or progression towards SiLC, CGeol or CEnv advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review ground investigation and geo-environmental reports.
• Prepare Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments, GQRA and groundwater DQRA.
• Develop Conceptual Site Models and remediation strategies.
• Manage ground investigations and laboratory testing.
• Liaise with Local Authorities, Environment Agency and stakeholders.
• Support planning submissions and discharge of planning conditions.
• Manage projects, budgets and client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development.

Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer London £55k-£60k plus benefits One of our key clients has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our client's growing multidisciplinary consultancy in London. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of brownfield, residential, mixed-use and major regeneration projects across London and the South East, working closely with civil, structural and geotechnical teams. The successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering geo-environmental assessments, contaminated land advice and remediation strategies from initial investigation through to project completion.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation and geo-environmental reports
• Preparing Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments, GQRA and groundwater DQRA
• Developing Conceptual Site Models and remediation strategies
• Managing ground investigations and laboratory testing
• Liaising with Local Authorities, the Environment Agency and other stakeholders
• Supporting planning submissions and discharge of planning conditions
• Managing projects, budgets and client relationships
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to business development

Candidates should be degree qualified in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline, with strong UK consultancy experience in geo-environmental engineering. A proven background in contaminated land assessment and brownfield redevelopment, together with knowledge of LCRM, CLR11, C4SLs and Environment Agency guidance, is essential. Experience of **Human Health Risk Assessment**, groundwater DQRA and ground investigation interpretation is required. Chartered status or progress towards SiLC, CGeol or CEnv would be advantageous.
