Portal Biotech Limited in London is hiring two Senior Full-Stack Software Engineers to join the Analysis Platform team. You will design and build backend services, UI and deployment infrastructure powering analyses, runs and reports from our sequencing platform.

You will work on data analysis workflows, collaborate with React front-end developers, and automate deployments to Azure using Bicep. Applicants should have 6+ years' experience, strong Python, React/TypeScript skills, and a track record

About the Role

We are seeking two Senior Full-Stack Software Engineers to join our Analysis Platform team. You'll design and build the backend services, UI and deployment infrastructure that power the platform scientists use to launch analyses, follow runs and interact with reports from our analysis pipeline.

What you'll work on

• Design and implement services to launch and manage data analysis workflows, serving both internal teams and external users

• Work with and support the React front-end developers to design APIs and contribute to UI implementation

• Automate system deployment to Azure

• Review and refine product requirements, software design and test cases

Full-time, permanent role.

London hybrid at Scale Space, White City, 3-4 days/week.

Requirements

• 6+ years' experience, with exposure to the full product development lifecycle

• Significant experience of building reliable, well-engineered, maintainable Python components in a commercial software environment

• Experience deploying cloud systems with infrastructure as code; we use Bicep on Azure, but it’s OK if you know something else

• Some experience of React and TypeScript user interface development

• Experience with modern testing frameworks, ideally including integration and end-to-end testing (e.g. pytest, Cucumber, Playwright)

• Comfortable owning outcomes, making decisions, and pushing work over the finish line in a fast-moving environment

• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a cross-functional team, with domain experts and product leads

Desirable

• Experience using AI to augment productivity while producing high-quality outputs as part of an SDLC process

• Familiarity with developing software within a Quality Management System

• Scientific, bioinformatics or lab-software experience
