Senior Full Stack Engineer (Scala / TypeScript)

Location: London (1 day per week in the office, 4 days remote)

Type: Full-time

We're looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in Scala and strong TypeScript skills to join our engineering team.

This is a backend-first role, with approximately 70% of your time focused on Scala services and 30% on TypeScript across our web applications. You\'ll work on high-impact products, collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, and help shape the technical direction of our platform.

What You\'ll Do

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services in Scala.
• Develop and enhance modern frontend applications using TypeScript.
• Build clean, well-tested, maintainable code across the stack.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering to deliver high-quality features.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Review code, mentor other engineers and help maintain engineering best practices.
• Improve system performance, reliability and observability.
• Strong commercial experience developing backend systems with Scala.
• Solid experience building frontend applications with TypeScript.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing and clean architecture.
• Experience working in Agile engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with React or another modern TypeScript framework.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
