Nexus Mods in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Engineering team, working on Vortex, our flagship desktop mod manager. You’ll design and scale consumer-facing systems used by millions of gamers powering downloads, deployments, and conflict resolution, across Windows first with Linux on the roadmap.

The ideal candidate has deep TypeScript, React, and Node.js skills, strong system design, and experience shipping production-grade desktop apps.

Qualifications

Must-have senior-level experience delivering consumer-facing systems at scale.
Strong production TypeScript/JavaScript experience.
Excellent React experience with state management.
Solid Node.js fundamentals including async I/O.
Strong system design and API design skills.
Experience debugging production software on varied hardware.
Hands-on CI/CD experience.
Great communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Own significant areas of the application across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
Deliver features across the full delivery lifecycle for desktop app support.
Tackle performance regressions and complex state bugs.
Evolve local data/configuration safely across releases.
Collaborate with other teams and review community contributions.
Maintain public extension API with trust/permission model.
Improve observability and diagnostics via crash reports and logs.
Promote performance, security, accessibility, and internationalisation practices.
Write clean, well-tested code and uphold CI/CD standards.
Mentor engineers and share standards across pods.
