Job summary

Burendo Limited. is a UK-based consultancy delivering technology-driven products and services to help organisations accelerate value delivery and create outstanding customer experiences.

We value pragmatic delivery, collaboration, and continuous learning, with engineers working across the full software lifecycle and contributing to all tech stack areas. The initial project involves an AI product powered by Claude, so AI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fundamental coding experience in at least two of: Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C#, Java.
• Fluency with AI-assisted dev tools.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• IaC experience with Terraform or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLabCI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps).
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies.
• Experience supporting a live product.
• Work with multiple tech stacks and Git.
• Experience with databases.
• Experience mentoring engineers.

The initial project will involve working internally on an AI Product powered by Claude, so some AI experience would be great.

We believe every engineer should have a fundamental understanding of development, infrastructure, and testing and therefore you’ll need at least some of these skills to help you pick the role up quickly. Burendo is invested in the growth of our consultants and provide a healthy self-development budget you can use to grow in the areas mentioned below, or any other of your choosing!

The must haves:

• Fundamental coding experience at least two of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C#, Java
• Fluency with AI assisted dev tools
• Experience working within cloud environments, specifically AWS or Azure (Or both!)
• Fundamental understanding of infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or an equivalent technology
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLabCI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps
• A good understanding of and experience working with agile methodologies
• Experience working in supporting a live product
• Experience adapting to different tech stacksUnderstanding of and working experience with source control, particularly Git
• Experience with database technologies of some flavour
• Experience mentoring and up-skilling engineers

And it would be great if you have any of these:

• Experience building production applications using the Claude API (or comparable LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Gemini)
• Experience with no-SQL technologies such as MongoDB
• Experience of building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLabCI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps

These are the little bit extra, cherry-on-top skills that will help you stand out. Still give us a shout if you haven't currently got these skills though!
