Job summary

Ocho People in Belfast is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a brand-new cloud-native trading platform. You will design, implement and deploy services across the platform, working with Principal Engineers and cloud partners to shape architecture and delivery.

The role combines hands-on development with architectural decisions in a hybrid setup based in Belfast, offering a ground-floor chance to influence a major project and grow technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full stack, front-end or back-end engineering.
• Strong TypeScript and React experience.
• Experience with Redux, React Query, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Backend experience with TypeScript, C# or Java.
• Strong AWS knowledge, including Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway or AppSync.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and microservices architecture.
• Experience with containerisation, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of pub/sub messaging such as SOLACE or AMQP.
• Strong automated testing across unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams using Git, JIRA and Linux or PowerShell.

The Role

You'll join a newly formed team building a modern, cloud-native trading platform from the ground up.

Working closely with Principal Engineers, architects and engineers from a major cloud partner, you'll take ownership across design, development, testing and deployment. You'll also mentor junior engineers, influence architecture and help shape the wider engineering culture.

This role suits someone who enjoys both hands-on delivery and challenging technical decisions.
