Qualifications

  • Full stack development experience, including front-end and back-end.
  • Knowledge of database design, SQL, and version control (Git).
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Experience in Agile environments and deploying to AWS EKS.

A bit about the job

You’ll join our Information and Workplace Retirement (IWR) team at Aviva, supporting the Find and Combine product—a key service that helps customers locate and consolidate their pensions. This role exists to ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of the platform, enabling customers to manage their retirement savings with confidence. You’ll focus on Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations, bug fixes, and maintenance, working alongside a team of developers, a data scientist, and a product owner to deliver seamless service.

Skills and experience we’re looking for
  • Strong proficiency in PHP (Laravel and Slim frameworks) and solid experience with Python.
  • Full stack development experience, including front-end and back-end.
  • Knowledge of database design, SQL, and version control (Git).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and solve problems proactively.
  • Experience in Agile environments, CI/CD practices and deploying to AWS EKS
What you’ll get for this role:
  • Starting salary circa £70,000 (national) circa £75,000 (London) (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
