Applied Data Science Partners Ltd. is seeking a versatile software engineer to join our London-area team, delivering robust software, data pipelines, and scalable APIs. You will collaborate across frontend and backend, mentor juniors, and ensure code quality through reviews.

The role emphasizes Python and TypeScript development, cloud deployments, and strong communication with stakeholders. Hybrid work is available, with a focus on delivering high-impact solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• Proven ability to develop UI, backend APIs and software integrations using tools like React.
• Proficiency with writing maintainable Python and TypeScript, including libraries for data processing and backend API development (e.g., FastAPI, Pydantic, ExpressJS, NodeJS, NextJS API Router).
• Good understanding of cloud deployment.
• Effective communication through written reports and presentations.
• Ability to version control code using Git, GitHub and Azure DevOps in a collaborative environment.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and deploy robust software solutions and promote best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Architect and maintain data pipelines, backend services, and APIs for scalability and performance.
• Review Python and SQL code via Git to ensure quality and security.
• Support cloud deployments on Azure/GCP and use Docker with volumes and permissions.
• Develop and optimise database solutions using SQL on cloud platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems with analytical rigor.
• Communicate technical concepts and project outcomes to stakeholders via documentation and calls.
• Maintain high attention to detail across development work to meet requirements.
• Stay updated with emerging software engineering trends and propose improvements.
• Identify technical risks and assist in project planning and task management.
• Assist in design and implementation of front-end applications with focus on user experience.

• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of robust software solutions, promoting best practices throughout the software development lifecycle


• Contribute to architecting and maintaining complex data engineering pipelines, backend services, and APIs to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance


• Support the thorough review of Python and SQL code via Git, promoting code quality, security, and adherence to engineering standards


• Support cloud-based deployments and infrastructure (e.g. Azure, GCP), leveraging Linux scripting and advanced Docker skills including storage, volumes, and permissions


• Develop and implement database solutions using SQL and Cloud platforms, with a focus on optimising performance and data integrity


• Mentor and guide junior engineers, facilitating knowledge sharing and the adoption of best engineering practices


• Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems, applying advanced problem-solving and analytical skills


• Effectively communicate technical concepts and project outcomes to stakeholders through written documentation, calls, and presentations


• Demonstrate high attention to detail across all development activities, contributing to deliverables that meet technical and business requirements


• Remain up to date with emerging software engineering technologies and industry trends and proactively suggest improvements and new approaches


• Identify technical risks and contribute to project planning and task management, helping to achieve successful outcomes


• Assist the design and implementation of front-end applications while emphasising user experience

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience of presenting technical concepts to stakeholders


• Proven experience of developing complex user interfaces, backend APIs and software integrations using tools like React


• Proficiency with writing maintainable Python and Typescript, including experience of working with relevant libraries for data processing and backend API development (i.e., FastAPI, Pydantic, expressJS, NodeJS, NextJS API Router, etc)


• Good understanding of cloud deployment


• Effective communication skills through written reports and presentations.


• Ability to version control code using tools such as Git, GitHub and Azure DevOps in a collaborative development environment


• Ability to manage complex branching and merging scenarios using Git in rapid development cycles, collaborate with distributed teams using feature branches and pull requests along with maintain high code quality by reviewing commits and automating testing in CI/CD pipelines with Git)


• Ability to read others' code


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Ability to guide and mentor others
