Job summary

AECOM is seeking a frontend engineer to own the UI for our AI-driven products. You will work with TypeScript, Svelte and React, delivering polished, high-performance interfaces for thousands of engineers.

You will collaborate with product managers, ML and backend teams to ship features end-to-end, focusing on UX, accessibility and scalable frontend architecture. This role offers hands-on development, performance optimizations and opportunities to shape design systems.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture and state management.
Strong web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, browser APIs, performance, and accessibility.
Experience integrating REST APIs and real-time data into frontends.
Familiar with build tooling (Vite, SvelteKit) and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain rich, interactive user interfaces using Svelte and React (TypeScript).
Collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, and backend engineers to deliver frontend features end-to-end.
Translate AI and engineering outputs into clear, usable components with a focus on UX and performance.
Own frontend architecture decisions including state management and design system development.
Drive frontend performance, bundle optimization, and production readiness.
Build high-performance 2D/3D web experiences for complex engineering visualisations.
