Zopa is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to shape our web platform. You will build high-performance applications using Next.js, React and TypeScript, influence architecture and drive best practices across teams in London and beyond.
You will own frontend design, contribute to SEO, Core Web Vitals and tooling, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Design and Marketing to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Hybrid working 2–3 days in London office, with optional abroad days.
Our Web Engineering team sits at the heart of Zopa, building the web experiences that power customer acquisition, customer servicing and the internal tools our teams rely on. Working closely with Product, Design, Marketing and Backend teams, we deliver fast, scalable and accessible experiences that make a real impact.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll help shape the future of our web platform, building high-performance applications with our current frontend ecosystem. You'll influence architecture, drive engineering best practices and solve complex technical challenges while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This is a hands‑on role with broad technical ownership, spanning technical design, implementation, experimentation, performance optimisation and continuous improvement. You'll also play a key role in advancing our frontend architecture, technical SEO, Core Web Vitals and reusable platform capabilities.
We value flexible ways of working. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2‑3 days a week. You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year, subject to having the right to work in the chosen country.
Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments.
At Zopa, AI is not something we test; it is part of how we work every day. We are a proud partner of Jobs 2030 and expect Zopians to use AI as part of their work. We are transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process.
Behavioural and competency‑based interviews: we do not use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you—your experiences, judgment and how you’ve approached real situations. An AI‑generated answer can’t tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we’re the right fit for each other.
Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don’t. Your Talent Partner will let you know what’s expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we’ll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
