Job summary

Liquidnet Europe Limited is seeking a Senior Front Office Support Engineer to lead the Europe Front Office Support team. You will apply expertise in FIX, Linux, Windows Server, DevOps, databases, networking, and cloud tech to ensure platform reliability and performance.

You will drive automation, mentor junior engineers, own complex projects, and coordinate global migrations while focusing on root-cause analysis and preventative improvements across trading platforms.

Qualifications

Hands-on production support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider).
Deep application support experience within a Unix/Linux environment.
Expert working knowledge of FIX protocol and complex debugging of FIX sessions and message flows.
Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments.
Advanced experience troubleshooting network problems: firewalls, routing, DNS, load balancers, connectivity.
Experience with multiple buy-side or sell-side Order Management Systems.
Strong understanding of international equity market mechanics, flows and settlement.
Proven ability to lead multiple projects with deadlines.
Expert-level experience with MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase databases, including complex queries and tuning.
A natural leader who drives continuous improvement in support functions.

Responsibilities

Act as technical lead and primary escalation point for complex application support issues, driving root-cause analysis and resolution across the trading platform.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge transfer.
Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Own and drive projects including new feature implementations, client migrations, and cloud migration initiatives.
Fulfil and oversee complex client customisation requests within algorithmic trading systems and MTF platform.
Manage and optimise team processes to ensure SLA adherence.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and analysis of order routing, trade flow, and post-trade issues.
Lead the 'follow the sun' support model with global teams in APAC and US.
Drive incident management, trend analysis, and post-mortems; collaborate with dev teams for platform improvements.
Occasional weekend work during major upgrades and out-of-hours testing.
