Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer for a Hertfordshire-based space business. You will lead high-reliability FPGA designs from requirements through verification for flight hardware.

Ideal candidates will have strong FPGA design experience in space or high-reliability sectors, proficient HDL (VHDL/SystemVerilog), and hands-on experience with major FPGA toolchains. You will mentor others and collaborate across systems, hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing FPGAs for space or high-reliability sectors.
• Strong HDL skills in VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
• Proficiency with FPGA toolchains (AMD/Xilinx, Microchip or similar).
• Experience leading FPGA projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Turn system requirements into FPGA architecture and design.
• Design and implement FPGAs for space/high reliability apps.
• Develop IP for SoC based platforms.
• Own verification to high reliability standards.
• Lead FPGA projects technically and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware and software teams.
