Job summary

Ascent Recruitment supports a well-established Manchester Insurance business in City Centre recruiting a Senior FP&A Accountant. The role leads budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning, collaborating with senior leadership.

You will build and enhance financial models, translate commercial drivers into forecasts, provide insights to the leadership team and help drive strategic decisions with robust analysis.

Qualifications

• Strong FP&A experience with budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting, cash flow and balance sheet drivers.
• Ability to analyse large datasets and turn them into commercial insight.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-range financial planning process.
• Build, maintain, and enhance financial models.
• Translate commercial drivers into clear financial forecasts and analysis.
• Deliver scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Analyse performance across entities, business lines and P&L segments.
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership and support board reporting.
• Support strategic initiatives, including growth programmes and expansion projects.
• Continuously improve FP&A processes, forecasting accuracy and financial reporting tools.
