Qualifications

• Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with young people and adults.
• Proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing.
• A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to work in partnership with placing authorities.
• Confidence with transporting children and young people in stressful situations.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise foster parents and their families.
• Monitor the suitability and competence of foster parents.
• Work with foster parents to ensure they understand the fostering task.
• Provide and record regular supervision to foster parents.
• Work in partnership with local authorities and professionals.
• Ensure compliance with key documentation for each child and foster parent.
• Promote participation of children and young people.
• Participate in an out of hours support service on a rota basis.
• Participate in day duty system on a rota basis.
