The role of the Senior Formulation Scientist – Home & Personal Care is to drive research excellence at Arxada across multiple markets in the areas of personal care & home care formulation, delivering innovative solutions in the form of new inventions and advanced formulation insights and formats for improving preservation and establishing novel format claims related to surfactant, emulsifier and multifunctional uses in these technology areas. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cosmetic formulations and a passion for creating innovative products.

Essential Job Functions:

Design and conduct experiments to develop ideas, concepts, processes, hypotheses, and focus areas that lead to new products, formulations, or expanded application uses.
Initiate and lead specific innovation pipeline management programs intended to create new and/or improved products, formulations, testing protocols, and/or processes.
Provide direction and insights into the innovation needs of Arxada customers and how Arxada technologies can deliver solutions for those needs via deep application knowledge and service.
Define research programs, in conjunction with universities and external research organizations, to facilitate promotion of our products with consumers.
Lead formulation development to develop robust technical information in the form of customer seminars, webinars, research/technical reports, presentations, product data sheets, and sales tools for new products in collaboration with the Global Marketing teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

4-7 years of experience in cosmetic formulation, specifically in skin care, hair care, sun care or colour cosmetics.
BSc in Chemistry or related field is essential. MSc in Cosmetic Science is desirable.
Strong ability to develop new formulations across multiple personal care and home care applications.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, devise solutions and adapt to changing circumstances.
High level of competency in conducting experiments, utilizing laboratory equipment and implementing safety protocols.
Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions and products.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including other functions in R&D, marketing and regulatory and communicate effectively.
