Job summary

Gondolin Land and Water Ltd is recruiting a Senior Flood Risk Consultant in Edinburgh. You will manage a portfolio of flood risk projects, lead technical work, and mentor junior staff while engaging with clients and regulators across the UK.

The role requires 4–6 years of consultancy experience, a 2:1 degree, and strong skills in flood risk assessment, planning policy, and modelling. Flexible/hybrid working and UK travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant subject.
• Proven experience in Flood Risk Assessment with understanding of planning policy and guidance.
• Project management experience: deadlines, budgets, resources, client communication.
• Experience delivering projects independently with peer support.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver a portfolio of flood risk projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and support planning and regulatory processes.
• Manage programmes, budgets, resources and client communications.
• Coordinate and review junior team members' technical work.
• Provide guidance, training and support to junior colleagues.
• Interact with clients, project teams, regulators and stakeholders.
• Support hydraulic modelling, drainage design, fieldwork, and CAD/GIS work as appropriate.
