Job summary

Decibel Fire & Security Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair fire alarm, intruder, CCTV and access control systems across Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

You will diagnose faults, carry out system takeovers and provide clear explanations to customers, while maintaining thorough service records and adherence to industry standards. A full UK driving licence, FIA/electrical training, and on-call availability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire & Security Service Engineer.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm and electronic security systems.
• The ability to work independently and manage service visits effectively.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• A professional and conscientious approach to paperwork and compliance.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience with Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Texecom, Paxton, Dahua or similar would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently.
• Carrying out system takeovers and identifying remedial works.
• Completing accurate service records and updating system asset information.
• Clearly explaining faults, recommendations and completed works to customers.
• Identifying additional works where systems require improvement or upgrading.
• Working in accordance with BAFE, SSAIB, British Standards and company procedures.
• Participating in the company’s on-call rota.
• Our customer base includes schools, commercial premises, offices and other organisations throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
