Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is recruiting a Senior Fire Safety Advisor for Sizewell C to join the Civil Works Alliance and drive fire safety across the site. You will work with the Fire and Emergency Planning Lead to ensure regulatory compliance, lead risk assessments and mentor junior advisors.

The role requires expertise in RRFSO 2005, HSG168, CDM 2015, Building Safety Act 2022, and a proven track record in high‑risk construction environments. On-site work and UK right-to-work are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to engage, influence and promote a positive fire safety culture across the organisation.
• Excellent knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance (RRFSO 2005, HSG168, CDM, Building Safety Act 2022).
• Experience using data for fire safety reports and developing health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Fire and Emergency Planning Lead to drive fire safety across CWA activities.
• Develop and maintain fire safety processes to meet regulatory requirements and project demands.
• Ensure compliance with Fire Safety Orders and construction standards for temporary and permanent works.
• Champion behavioural fire safety with briefings, drills and mentoring junior HSW/Fire Advisors.
• Embed fire prevention into project methods and construction sequencing per HSG168 and CDM 2015.
• Support SZC and CWA in meeting ONR expectations for robust fire safety controls.
• Analyse fire safety indicators, report trends, share lessons learned, and support incident investigations.
• Lead and review fire risk assessments for all CWA areas; ensure actions are closed.
