Job summary

Mott MacDonald in London is seeking a high-calibre Fire Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will develop fire safety strategies, perform design reviews, and coordinate with internal and external teams on prestigious building and infrastructure projects.

The role requires chartered status or working towards it, strong knowledge of fire/smoke modelling tools, and experience with national and international fire codes. We offer a competitive package and agile working options.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Degree in engineering or science.
• Proficient in fire/smoke modelling tools and fire codes (NFPA, IBC).
• Excellent report writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of performance-based fire engineering to national frameworks.
• Experience in building and infrastructure projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire safety strategies for diverse building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform design reviews to ensure compliance with codes.
• Collaborate with internal and external technical teams.
• Specify and interpret fire/smoke modelling studies (FDS).
• Manage fire engineering design work from concept to detailed stages.
• Coordinate site activities including surveys and familiarisation.
• Conduct peer reviews and maintain high deliverable quality.
• Engage with clients and develop strong relationships.
• Support business development and resource planning.
• Use company finance systems to manage projects.
