Job summary

Fixatex is seeking a Fire Alarm Supervisor to lead our Fire Department, delivering the Fire Alarm program mainly in social housing. You will oversee engineers, ensure work meets BS7671/BS5839 standards, and coordinate inspections and certifications. The role emphasizes leadership, client liaison, and ongoing professional development.

You will manage audits, maintain BAFE accreditation, and contribute to continuous improvement while promoting health and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of fire systems and BS7671/BS5839 standards.
• Experience delivering structured work programs and KPIs.
• People management experience leading large teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineers, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
• Monitor team performance and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in staff investigations and disciplinary processes as necessary.
• Interpret fire alarm drawings and specifications as required.
• Maintain, repair, and adapt Fire Alarm systems including Closed Protocol Systems.
• Deliver toolbox talks to engineers and improvers.
• Conduct onsite supervision visits and post inspection reviews.
• Ensure electrical work complies with BS 7671 and BS 5839.
• Review and authorise staff certifications.
• Lead audits and maintain BAFE accreditation.
• Work safely in accordance with health and safety and Fire Alarm regulations.
• Attend client site meetings as required.
• Coordinate to resolve client queries efficiently.
• Provide technical advice and support to clients and team members.
• Complete paperwork using Oneserve Application.
• Support business change initiatives to improve operations.
• Prepare quotations and VOs, liaise with suppliers to order materials.
• Undertake training for ongoing professional development.
