Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a full-time Assistant Financial Services Accountant for Expenditure based at Assynt House, Inverness, on a 2-year fixed term contract or secondment. You will support the Accounts Payable, Patient Travel, Systems and Primary Care Teams within Financial Services.

The role requires CCAB qualification (or progressing to final stage) with at least 5 years in a large finance department, plus strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified (or final stage) accountant with leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a large finance department at a senior level.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Accounts Payable, Patient Travel, Systems, and Primary Care teams.
• Ensure standing financial instructions and procedures are followed and deadlines met.
• Reconcile control accounts and maintain integrity of the financial ledger.
