Allianz Commercial in London is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to steer financial performance within a defined underwriting portfolio. You will plan, report and analyze monthly results, supporting decision-making and portfolio steering through challenging financial performance.

Your Team

Within CFO Global Performance Steering (GPS), the Business Partnering & Steering team is a key contributor to foster bold and proactive steering towards Allianz Commercial’s growth plans as well as provide consistent and comprehensive business steering along the annual steering cycle.

Within CFO Global Performance Steering (GPS), the Business Partnering & Steering team is a key contributor to foster bold and proactive steering towards Allianz Commercial’s growth plans as well as provide consistent and comprehensive business steering along the annual steering cycle.

The Impact You Will Have

Based in the London office, you will be responsible for the steering of the financial performance in your assigned underwriting portfolio. You will perform planning, reporting and analysis to ensure your stakeholders’ understanding of monthly results, and support the decision-making process and portfolio steering by continuously challenging financial performance.

You will play a key role in building bridges between our Finance and Underwriting departments as well as sharing best practice within GPS and the wider finance community.

You don't need to be a qualified accountant — we welcome candidates from any discipline where you have developed strong numerical and analytical capabilities, whether that's actuarial, underwriting, broking, claims, or another commercially focused function. What matters most is that you bring significant insurance sector experience, superior stakeholder management skills, and the business acumen to translate financial data into meaningful insight that drives decision-making.

Some Of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include

• Provide consistent and comprehensive business steering support

What You’ll Bring To The Role

• Experience in the financial services industry, ideally in insurance or reinsurance
• Proven expertise in planning and performance management, in particular analysis of financial statements and performance metrics specific to insurance or reinsurance
• Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively, to a variety of stakeholders including senior management
• At ease working in a global team, maintaining effective remote relationships
• Analytical and problem-solving ability, able to provide insight in complex situations
• Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, controlling, monitoring, reporting, moderating) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and requirements
• Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills, as well as SAP experience for reporting
• Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
