Job description

THE COMPANY

Our client is one of the leading independent distributors of television programming and formats in the UK.

THE ROLE

In this role, you will oversee the distribution royalty cycle encompassing investment appraisal and recoupment forecasting. This role involves both financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for forecasting purposes, as well as technical accounting responsibilities, including the preparation of key reconciliations and audit support focused on assessing the recoverability of distribution advances.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare essential monthly reconciliations for royalties and advances.
  • Oversee recoupment forecasting and track ultimate margins.
  • Ensure all necessary data is accessible for Finance team reporting and FP&A investment analysis.
  • Evaluate new and ongoing investments against established models.
  • Collaborate with the COO, CFO, and Content team on investment appraisal.
  • Review cash forecasts and investment analysis conducted by the Finance Analyst, while managing the investment approval process.
  • Support senior leadership in modelling for M&A activities and post-merger integration.
  • Lead finance system integration projects.
  • Supervise and mentor a Finance Analyst.

THE PERSON

ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified, you will have proven experience in a business analysis role at a senior level, ideally within TV distribution/licensing. You will have a good technical accounting knowledge and experience of applying accounting standards to complex business situations.

With strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you will be highly organised and have a high attention to detail.

A team player, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
