Job summary

TJX Europe in Watford is seeking a Senior Analyst to be a true commercial finance business partner. You will deliver insightful analysis across multiple data sources and visualisation techniques to answer key business questions for TJX.

In this role you will partner with Marketing, Operations, Property, Merchandising, Buying, Distribution and Ecommerce to provide financial insight, build business cases, support trials and communicate findings clearly to Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

• Analytical mindset with ability to turn data into actionable insight.
• Strong modelling skills and financial analysis.
• Accounting qualification, MBA, or equivalent business planning experience.
• Proficient with Excel (essential) and Power BI or similar tools.
• Curious, proactive and able to work under uncertainty.
• Excellent communicator able to translate complex analysis clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with functions to provide financial and analytical support for goals.
• Work with Business Analysis Manager to deliver cohesive analytical support for strategic decisions.
• Challenge current thinking and recommend opportunities to optimise value and reduce cost.
• Build financial business cases for large scale investments.
• Support trials, analyse results with statistical methods, and present to Senior Leadership.
• Provide insights on market trends and competitive implications with recommended actions.

This Senior Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to be a truly commercial finance business partner. You will be responsible for delivering on exciting projects by providing insightful analysis—utilising multiple data sources and visualisation techniques—to effectively communicate the answers to key business questions facing TJX.

The Business Analysis team supports the whole organisation, partnering across Marketing, Operations, Property, Merchandising, Buying, Distribution, Ecommerce and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with functions across the organisation, providing financial and analytical support towards their goals and priorities
• Work with the Business Analysis Manager to provide cohesive analytical support to help inform strategic business decisions
• Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities and minimise risk/cost to the business
• Work with business partners to build financial business cases to support large scale investments
• Support the business to conduct trials, consult non-finance professionals on Test and Learn best practice, analyse results using statistical software and present findings back to Senior Leadership
• Provide key insights on competitors, market trends and potential implications facing the business and offer alternatives/solutions

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Highly analytical with an ability to use business intelligence to generate impactful insight
• Strong business modelling skills
• Accounting qualification, MBA, or similar business planning experience
• Ability to interrogate multiple large data sets and utilise analytical tools such as Excel (essential) and Power BI or similar
• Curious to learn and understand the off-price retail model
• Possess initiative and a drive to problem solve
• Forward thinking with a flexible attitude
• An excellent communicator; skilled in translating financial or complex analysis in a simple, effective & engaging manner
• Be comfortable with complexity and ambiguity
• Experience within a consumer facing business (Retail/FMCG) desirable
